MyBlogSpark Dinner Party

About a month ago I was invited to attend a dinner party on July 22nd, hosted by MyBlogSpark. They wanted to treat me and a guest to a four course dinner at Ben Pao's in Chicago to thank me for being part of their network.

Ben Pao's is a fabulous Chinese Restaurant right in the heart of Chicago. How could I turn down such a wonderful offer!

I can't tell you how excited I was to have a night out with just my husband. I had never been to Ben Pao's before so, it was even more exciting to finally be able to try them out. My husband couldn't stop raving about how great their food is.

It was a beautiful summer's night when we arrived. We had to fill out a release form in case any pictures or film was taken of us. This didn't seem out of the ordinary at the time.

We were allowed to have one adult beverage as part of the four course meal. I chose a Frozen Ginger Ale. It was heavenly!

We were then served sweet and sour soup and appetizers. I know, I am a bad blogger. I was so hungry I forgot to take pictures of the food!

We were able to choose from several selections for dinner. I choose the Beef and Broccoli and my husband had the Shrimp Lo Mein.

The food was delicious! I couldn't have asked for a better meal. We were then treated to the most delicious desserts - Lemon-Ginger Cheesecake and Chocolate Spring Rolls.

After everyone had finished the hosts walked around and passed out fortune cookies. The cameras came out of nowhere and they were taping everyone opening their fortune cookies. Here is what it said:

My husband and I were in complete shock! This food was way too good to be frozen! It tasted like real gourmet Chinese food. Even my husband was really taken back because he had eaten at Ben Pao's before and couldn't tell the difference! It was just that good.

I have to admit I have heard of Wanchai Ferry before but never tried it. I will make it a point to buy it now so I can have wonderful Chinese food at home.

Disclosure: I was provided with the dinner, a gift card, product and information through MyBlogSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

  1. Hey, did you see Lola there?? I think she was going and wanted me to tag along. I was out of town, unfortunately. :( One of these days, we are gonna have to meet up for coffee.

  2. Bwahahahaha. You were invited out for a frozen dinner. Sorry honey, but I find that a hoot. I will however look for that in our frozen food section of my favorite grocery store. I love good Chinese.

I'm glad you and hubby had a very nice evening out. That's the very best part.

Have a terrific day. Big hug. :)

  4. How funny!! Ive seen that commercial where they did that with I think Pizza Hut or something. Hey that's cool, frozen food that tastes good I'm all in! Forget having to go out. Girl, I have four kids that most babysitters run from! Insurance just doesn't cover them. LOL
But a nite out would rock! Glad you and Hubby had a nice dinner. ☺
