The Next Generation In Coupons

Being that I have six mouths to feed, I am HUGE into coupons. I started out with a small file box and tried to organize them that way. Then I started reading all the wonderful blogs and websites out there about how to maximize my savings and progressed to a full binder with my coupons.

I am by no means like those ladies you see on T.V. that go in and spend $120.00 and get their final bill for $.55 cents. That just isn't realistic for my family. I saved the most ever this weekend and it was $13.00. That is a new all time record for me!

But now, I am completely amazed at technology and how far it has come! Recently, I posted about an iPhone application that drives me crazy! Now I have found some that are amazing.

Did you know that you can buy an App that lets you have coupons on your phone that you just show to the cashier and they scan them???? I am using one called mobiQpons and it is so cool. It takes your location and pulls up the stores around you that are using this new technology. I have Target, Office Depot, Carter's, The Children's Place and Ulta to name a few.

I have to admit it is taking time for me to remember that it is even there on my phone. But, when I do remember it is saving me more $$ and I love it!

Reason #101 Why I Hate Walmart

My van was involved in a hit and run while I was shopping. REALLY? People don't even have the courtesy to stop and leave information anymore. Too bad Walmart has security cameras everywhere!!

Want To Be Annoyed? We Have An App For That!!

I absolutely love my iphone. I have to admit I don't use all the cool things on it that I could since I don't have as much time as I would like. Every once in awhile I get a quick minute to play around with my phone and look at the applications.

I started putting a few free kids games on my phone for those times we get stuck at the doctor's office or somewhere where I may need some help entertaining my younger ones.

One day I found an application that just looked so cool. I had to have it! The application is called "Talking Carl".

In theory, this is the coolest thing ever. In reality.....I HATE YOU CARL!!!!
Carl repeats every word, noise, and sound you say to him. It was cute for about an hour. Since then he has caused nothing but trouble in my house. My two year old loves him the most.

She loves him so much that it got to the point that she would cry for him every day just to play with him. I seriously had to consider starting a 12-step getting over Carl program for her!!

I have since removed Carl from my phone. She still asks for him from time to time, but for my sanity I just had to get rid of him. Sorry Carl...

SOOC Saturday

Slurping Life

Melody over at Slurping Life is hosting SOOC Saturday. SOOC stands for Straight Out Of The Camera image. It's simple. Just post a picture you took (without editing it) and tell us a bit about it. This is my first one. It looked like way too much fun to pass up!

I found this photo on my iPhone the other day. I am guessing my four year old is taking pictures of herself when I am not looking! LOL

Post It Note Tuesday

Because Every 4 Year Old Needs A Flashlight

We celebrated my daughter's 4th birthday Chuck E. Cheese style this year. Everyone seemed to have a really good time and most importantly the birthday girl loved it.

I enjoy having the girls parties there, but I do have one major complaint about the place. CAN SOMEONE PLEASE CLEAN ALL THE GAMES OFF!!! This place must be crawling with germs. The place is otherwise immaculate, EXCEPT THE GAMES! Now, I don't know about you, but the minute my first born came into this world I became a germaphobe. It is hard to have a good time when all you can think about is the unknown viruses and germs your kids are going to come home with.

But, I digress. Everything was going great and it was time for presents. This year anything Barbie was my daughter's top request. She got barbies, barbie clothes, barbie accessories and a flashlight. Yes, you read correctly a flashlight. Because every four year old wants a flashlight, right?

I guess if it came from anyone else I would think it was weird. But, it came from my Mom's fiancee. He is in his late 60's and gives the strangest gifts. Case in point, the gift he gave my husband this last Christmas. (it is some kind of wind mill thing)

I can't wait to see what I get for my birthday this year!!!

Love you bunches,
Mommy

Aloha Friday/Friday Follow #1

My brain hurts this week, so I decided to take it easy today and join Aloha Friday over at An Island Life. Aloha Friday is the day we take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So, I am going to ask a simple question that doesn't require too much thinking (plus I really need help with this one!).

My question is:

If your child is asked on a play date with a child and parents that are new to you do you let them go? Do you meet the parents first?

My answer: I don't have one yet. This is just starting to come up with my girls and I am just not comfortable letting them go. I need help to figure out how to stay protective, but let my girls have a life.

It is also Friday Follow time! I would love if you would follow my blog - just let me know. I will be sure to return the favor!!

I'm Crushed - My Baby Has Her First Crush

I knew it was only a matter of time. I didn't know when it would happen, but it did.

MY BABY HAS HER FIRST CRUSH!!!!!!

She is 10 and everything seems to be moving quickly with her. I think 10 years old these days might equate to 12 years old back when I was a kid. Where has the time gone? I remember her first steps, first words, and now I guess I will remember her first crush.

His name is Justin.....Justin Bieber.

I now know WAY more than I ever wanted to know about this child. I have been told his favorite color, his favorite food, his favorite candy, his birthday, the name of his manager and the list goes on and on. I see him hanging all over her walls and hear his voice coming from her stereo every day.

I guess this means it is time to buckle my seat belt because she is about to jump on the "crazy for boys train".

I do have to admit I was no better than her at this age. This is what I had hanging on my bedroom wall!!

Wordless Wednesday - This One Isn't Going To Win Toy Of The Year

In all fairness, each Zhu Zhu pet has a warning sticker on the bottom that says to be careful of getting them caught in your hair. So, I didn't let my youngest around them. It ended up getting stuck in each of my other daughter's hair, including my 10 year old. Needless to say, Zhu Zhu don't live here no more!

Random Tuesday Thoughts - Spring Ahead

randomtuesday

I hate Spring.

I am still looking for that hour of sleep I lost. Has anybody seen it?

Daylight Savings Time is a Mother's worst nightmare. I mean, really? Do we need to screw up a child sleeping schedule that we have worked so hard to get down since the last time the clocks changed?

I have realized that I really like the Easter bunny. His job is SO much easier than Santa.

Spring around here is just confusing. It could be 70 degrees one day and snowing the next. Can we just skip it all together and just go to Summer?

My kids are a real pain in the ass during Spring. The first warm day of the season and they expect me to have a brand new Summer wardrobe for them. Hey, kid....it's gonna snow tomorrow!

I really hate the expression, "April showers bring May flowers". Last time I checked rain in any month brought flowers.

Make sure to go visit Keely for more Random Tuesday Thoughts.

Cheaper Than Therapy

First I would like to thank everyone for their wonderful welcome back comments. I am so glad I came back. I have missed everyone and blogging.

I have to thank my husband for pushing me along to start up my blog again. I still have a long way to go to get back to the person I used to be without all these "girl" problems, but I am so much better than where I was. I have been feeling very isolated and alone with all that is going on. That is when my husband reminded me that my blog is cheaper than therapy and how many wonderful people I had in my life that could relate.

I hope by talking about some of what I have been through and am constantly learning I can help someone else out or even find some help of my own. This crazy thing called life gets pretty complicated around here. Thanks for helping me with my journey!
