What Are You Looking At? and Monday Hops

I knew it was coming. But why does it have to be so soon. Boys are looking at my daughter! My beautiful 10 year old daughter is becoming more beautiful every day. She is almost as tall as I am and she is just a natural beauty.

This weekend I took her to a birthday party and when I picked her up we went to go grab some dinner for the family. As I drove through the drive thru to pick up the food, I wasn't really paying much attention to the person serving me through the window. His tone became so respectful and willing to serve. I looked up to see who this amazing server was. As I looked into the window there were two young teenage boys trying to help me like I have never seen before. I also noticed they were looking at my daughter. I mean REALLY looking at my daughter.

My first reaction was to jump out of the car at him, pin him down and make sure he never looked at her again. Ok, so that wouldn't work. How about I scream at you at the top of my lungs? "She is only 10 and she is still mine!" Probably wouldn't work either.

So, young man, as you are looking at this beautiful girl

Remember this is how I see her.

Please keep your eyes in your head for quite a few years to come. It seems that I better so get myself one of these to keep you at bay.

Epic Motherhood FAIL

Yesterday was the first day of school for my two oldest daughters. We have been preparing for this for weeks. I am grateful that they are both so excited to go, even though I know that their enthusiasm will fade by Friday.

Everything was set and ready to go. Excitement and nerves ran ramped through the house the night before.  I was ready for this. The lunch packing, the paper signing, the school supplies that magically weren't on the list but needed to be bought. R-E-A-D-Y I tell ya!

The morning went smoother than I had anticipated. I won't lie and say I wasn't totally nervous. Mostly because my 7 year old suffers from Anxiety and I am so worried about her. But, I kept it together.

Coffee - check
Breakfast - check
Clothes - check
Lunches Packed - check
Got to the bus stop on time - check

For the first time in years I didn't cry when they got on the bus. Yes, I am one of those Moms. No matter how old they are I keep strong until that walk home for the bus stop and I shed tears for my babies.  This year I didn't cry. I think I might have actually had a skip in my step!! :) It  has been a LONG summer here.

I went about my morning with my four year old and two year old until it hit me like a ton of paralyzing bricks! I forgot to give my 7 year old her anxiety medication!!!!!!!!

REALLY? Only the most important thing on the whole earth that has to be done every morning and I forgot!

I grabbed up my little ones and went racing to the school to drop off her pill. My daughter was not phased but I was a wreck. I thought I had it all together and I forgot the most important thing. I decided to cut myself some slack once I saw lunches, lunch money, school supplies and various other things that other Mom's had dropped off because they forgot to.

How did your first day of school go with your kids?

Every Day Is A Gift

TODAY

I will look at the day as a gift.

I will not take anything for granted.

I will hug you and kiss you more.

I will hug and kiss my kids more.

I will make sure my family knows how much I love them.

I won't worry about the small stuff so much.

I will live for today because tomorrow is not certain.

The end of last week shook me to my core and changed my life forever. These few lines are written to my husband. My husband started a new antibiotic for an infection and he had a severe, almost fatal allergic reaction. I still can't wrap my head around the fact that I could have lost him. I am even more grateful that I already was for each day. We all know that not every day is promised to us, but when something like this happens it just reminds us not to take anything or anyone for granted. I love you my wonderful husband and could not live my life without you.

Guess Who? Mix N' Mash Game Review

I was lucky enough to be asked to review Hasbro's latest fun game called - Guess Who? Mix N'Mash. My girls and I were so excited to play! We are always looking for new, fun, and creative things to do together and this was just perfect.

The game puts a twist on the classic guessing game by allowing up to four players to create and then guess what their wacky faces are. Along with the other players you need to eliminate some of the options to figure out what type of creature you created. By asking the other players "yes" or "no" questions you can eliminate some face combinations to figure out your mystery character.

My girls and I have already had hours of fun with this game. It is a wonderful and creative game that I can play with all of my girls and it fits each one of their ages. We all really enjoyed playing this game together. I highly suggest it for your next family fun night!

Guess Who? Mix N' Mash can be found this fall at mass retailers nationwide and retails for $19.99.

Make sure to keep up with the latest with Hasbro by following them on twitter at: @FamilyGameNight

or on Facebook at: Facebook.com/FamilyGameNight

Disclosure: I was provided this game from Hasbro to write a review. All opinions are my own.

Sesame Street Video USB Review and Giveaway

My two  year old daughter is a HUGE fan of Elmo. There are days that we seem to have Elmo marathons around here where we will watch the same episode over and over for hours. When ATP Electronics approached me about reviewing the Sesame Street Video USB I was ecstatic!

Each character has a different movie on the Sesame Street Video USB drive and also has memory space for pictures, songs and written content! Because of the wonderfully sturdy design each character is water proof, dust proof and drop proof. This is a perfect way to watch your favorite Sesame Street video either at home or away. It even has a strap for your child to wear it around the wrist.

My daughter absolutely LOVED this. It was really easy to use and all you have to do is press and play. Our Elmo USB had the Best of Elmo movie on it, which is her favorite. I was really impressed with the quality and the cuteness of the USB. The rubbery material it is made off seems like it can't be broken. I think the best feature is that it is a USB. I can't tell you how tired I am of having the girls scratch all the DVDs. This is finally a product they can't destroy!

The drives retail for $24.99 and can be found at:

www.store.sesamestreet.org
www.atptogo.com
www.amazon.com
www.qvc.com
www.walmart.com

Guess what?? ATP Electronics was kind enough to offer one of my readers their very own!!

8 More Days Until......

None of us will be healthy again until next June.

We will all be suseptible to every germ. They should call it going back to germs not back to school.

We will all have to get up early again and not able to sleep in.

The school district will dictate the next 10 months of my life.

I will be packing lunches again every day.

The fighting will be cut down in half.

My yelling will be cut down in half.

I will put on a brave face while taking them to the bus stop.

I will pretend I am excited for them to go.

I will cry all the way home from the bus stop.

I will miss all three of my girls madly.

I wish I could start the summer all over again.
